Пояснительная записка
Внеклассное мероприятие “День Благодарения” проводится в конце ноября как приобщение к культурной традиции изучаемого языка такой страны, как Америка, с целью повышения интереса к изучению английского языка и расширения кругозора учащихся.
Данное мероприятие рекомендуется проводить в 8-9 классах. Возраст 13-14-и лет- это подростковый период, характеризующийся повышением познавательного интереса и осознанием себя не только гражданином России, но и гражданином мира посредством приобщения к культуре другой страны и уважения других людей. Внеклассное мероприятие предполагает проведение подготовительного этапа, на котором учащиеся получают первоначальные представления об истории праздника и его проведении в наши дни (учащиеся читают и переводят тексты, заучивают лексику к ним). Некоторые учащиеся участвуют в подготовке праздника, а именно рисуют плакаты, иллюстрирующие символы праздника (индейка, рог изобилия, корзина с фруктами, индеец, пилигрим), корабль, на котором пилигримы прибыли в Америку, традиционный семейный обед в честь Дня Благодарения. Эти плакаты используются в качестве оформления кабинета при проведении мероприятия. Помощники ведущего (трое учащихся) заучивают текст об истории праздника, который будет представлен в начале конкурсной части в качестве напоминания об истоках его традиции.
Оформление
Предварительно зал подготовлен следующим образом: столы и стулья поставлены в 4 группы, под сиденьем каждого стула наклеен стикер с названием одной из четырех команд (Пилигримы, Индейцы, Фермеры, Охотники) таким образом, чтобы учащиеся его не видели. Кроме того, заранее подготовлены места для членов жюри и родителей. Зал украшен плакатами, выполненными учащимися.
В состав жюри входят двое учащихся, двое родителей, двое учителей. Членам жюри предоставлены все задания, ключи к ним, протоколы для заполнения результатов конкурсов..

Ход мероприятия.
Вступительная часть.
Звучит ритмичная, веселая музыка. Учащиеся произвольно занимают места за столами, их родители садятся на места для гостей. Ведущий приветствует участников и гостей мероприятия, затем обращается к учащимся с вопросами. Примерные вопросы: Вам нравятся праздники? Какие ваши любимые праздники? Какие американские праздники вы знаете? Затем ведущий обращает внимание учащихся на представленные на доске картинки-символы и спрашивает: “Символы, какого праздника представлены на доске?” Ведущий интересуется, праздновали ли когда-нибудь учащиеся День Благодарения, а затем предлагает отпраздновать его вместе, но сделать это необычным образом, т.е. в форме игры-соревнования.
Учащимся предлагается найти название своей команды на стикере под их стулом и пересесть за тот стол, на котором стоит табличка с соответствующим названием. Таким образом, учащиеся поделены на 4 команды: Пилигримы, Индейцы, Охотники, Фермеры. Затем группам предлагается выбрать капитана команды. Далее ведущий представляет членов жюри, которые будут оценивать работу команд. В жюри предлагается выбрать двоих учащихся, двоих учителей, двоих родителей.
Конкурсная часть.
Далее участникам и гостям предлагается прослушать текст на английском языке об истории праздника. Для этого выходят заранее подготовленные ученики и рассказывают о том, как коренные американцы и пилигримы отмечали День Благодарения впервые, сопровождая свой рассказ соответствующими картинками.
Thanksgiving Day
The fourth Thursday in November is Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a national holiday, so most people don't go to work. People get together with their families and friends to give thanks for the good things in their lives.
Thanksgiving started over 350 years ago with the Pilgrims in the fall of 1620, one hundred Pilgrims came to the United States from England. They came on a boat, the Mayflower. Half of the people came for religious freedom. All came for new lives.
The first winter, the Pilgrims were hungry, sick, and cold. Many people died. Then the Native Americans, the Indians, helped the Pilgrims. They taught the Pilgrims to plant corn and build houses. In the fall of 1621, the Pilgrims and the Indians had the first Thanksgiving. The Pilgrims wanted to give thanks for their new land. They also wanted to thank the Indians for their help.
Ведущий объявляет первый конкурс. Первый конкурс называется “Разминка”. Он состоит из 4 заданий. Ведущий объясняет задания и выдает их капитанам команд, которые распределяют их среди участников своей команды, при этом он координирует работу команды, помогает тем участникам, которые затрудняются. На выполнение первого конкурса отводится 10-13 минут.

- You will compete in 4 teams: “Pilgrims”, “Indians”, “Hunters”, “Farmers”. Find the name of your team on the stickers under your chair and join your team.
I. First competition: “Warm up” (Первый конкурс “Разминка” – 4 задания).

II. Second competition: “The Quickest and the Cleverest” (Второй конкурс: “Самый быстрый, самый умный”).
Второй конкурс называется “Самый быстрый, самый умный”.
Ведущий объясняет правила этого конкурса: соревнование проводится парами по 2 команды, если участвует 4 команды, то 2 захода по 2 команды. 2 команды встают напротив друг друга на расстоянии 10-12 метров друг от друга. На расстоянии 5-6 метров от команд устанавливается парта, на которой лежит кабачок (или какой-нибудь другой символ праздника). По команде “на старт, внимание, марш” первая пара участников двух соревнующихся команд стартует и подбегает к парте. Тот участник, который схватит кабачок первым, получает возможность ответить на вопрос, задаваемый ведущим, первым. Если участник не знает ответ, то право ответа переходит к другой команде. Жюри оценивает и быстроту, и правильность ответа: 1 бал за скорость, 1 бал за правильный ответ.

Teams stand in front of each other with the table between them.
When you hear “On your marks, get set, go” you start running up to the table as quick as possible catch a squash (or any other item) and answer the question: 1 point – for the quickest, 1 point for the right answer.

III. Third competition: “Word Hunt”
Третий конкурс называется “Охота на слово”.
Ведущий спрашивает, знают ли учащиеся, чему научили индейцы пилигримов (предполагаемые ответы: охота, рыболовство, сельское хозяйство). Затем ведущий предлагает учащимся представить, что они охотники. Каждой команде выдаются рисунки формата А3 с изображением индейки (рисунок №1 в приложении 1), в которой по горизонтали и по вертикали учащимся необходимо найти как можно больше слов за 3 минуты. Задание выполняется одновременно всеми командами.

IV. Fourth competition: “Stuffed turkey”.
Четвертый конкурс называется “Фаршированная индейка”. Ведущий интересуется, знают ли учащиеся самое популярное блюдо Дня Благодарения (предполагаемый ответ: фаршированная индейка). Ведущий сообщает, что следующий конкурс называется “Фаршированная индейка”.
На доску вывешиваются 4 плаката формата А3 с изображением индейки (рисунок №2 в приложении 1), в которой написаны слова (на тему День Благодарения). В конкурсе принимают участие одновременно все команды. Участники каждой команды по одному на скорость ищут называемые ведущим слова. Очко получает та команда, чей участник находит слово первым.

V. Fifth competition “Fashion Parade”
Ведущий обращается к учащимся с вопросом, знают ли они, какое самое популярное событие проходит в городе Нью-Йорке в День Благодарения. (Предполагаемый ответ: парад).
В этом конкурсе учащимся предлагается проявить свои творческие способности и принять участие в параде в честь Дня Благодарения. Каждая команда должна придумать и представить костюм предложенного ей символа Дня Благодарения (предлагаемые символы: рог изобилия, индейка, пилигрим, индеец). Задания вытягивают капитаны команд. На выполнение задания отводится 10-15 минут.

Данное мероприятие « О, Счастливчик!» проводится как итоговое занятие ,с целью повышения интереса к изучению английского языка и расширения кругозора учащихся. Данное мероприятие рекомендуется проводить в 8-11 классах.
В игре принимают участие 6 команд, каждая из которых состоит из 5 человек. Основные правила игры подобны правилам телепрограммы “Кто хочет стать миллионером?”. Участникам необходимо ответить на 15 вопросов. За первый правильный ответ команда получает 100 очков, за второй – 200, за третий – 300, за четвертый – 500, за пятый – 1 000, за шестой – 2 000, за седьмой – 4 000, за восьмой – 8 000, за девятый – 16 000, за десятый – 32 000, за одиннадцатый – 64 000, за двенадцатый – 125 000, за тринадцатый – 250 000, за четырнадцатый – 500 000, за пятнадцатый – 1 000 000. Выигрывает команда набравшая большее количество очков.

Пояснительная записка.
Каждый день недели заполнен каким-то мероприятием.
Все это позволяет направленно формировать познавательные интересы учащихся, расширять кругозор и сферы применения полученных и имеющихся знаний и умений.

Понедельник: Открытие недели английского языка (радиопередача, в которой рассказывается о предстоящих мероприятиях на неделю; в холле висит красочное объявление о ходе недели). Конкурс чтецов на английском языке.
Вторник: Страноведческий конкурс «Знаешь ли ты Великобританию?»
Среда: Викторины по странам изучаемого языка: США и Австралия.
Четверг: Конкурс стенгазет. Игровая программа для начальных классов.
Пятница: Закрытие недели: подведение итогов, награждение. Заключительный концерт.
Задания, которые можно предложить для учащихся начальной школы, (Это поможет развить у учащихся мотивацию к изучению иностранного языка, когда дети придут в 5 класс.)
1. Учимся приветствовать друг друга, говоря Hello – hi, разными способами: громко-тихо, печально-весело и т.д.
2. Игра: What’s your name? Ученики становятся в круг и хлопают в ладоши на словах What’s your name. По очереди называют свои имена, хлопая при этом по коленкам. И так по кругу, пока не назовут имена всех участников игры.
3. Do you know English? Знаете ли вы, что значат эти английские слова по-русски:

4. Big foot. На полу нарисовать 5 огромных отпечатков ботинок, якобы от великана, прошедшего недавно по коридору школы, на таком расстоянии, чтобы ученики могли перепрыгнуть с одного следа на другой. Разделить всех играющих на 2 команды. Та команда, участники которой быстрее перепрыгнут с одного следа на другой, побеждает. При этом команда хором считает шаги. (Таким образом? дети легко запоминают счет от 1 до 5).
5.Читается стихотворение на английском языке. Как только стихотворение дочитано до конца, все перестают улыбаться. Кто не выдерживает, платит фант: прыгает на одной ножке, поет, кукарекает и т.д.
6. Прощаемся, говоря bye – bye-bye, с разной интонацией и мимикой.

5. Hot potato: Игра, которую можно использовать между различными видами деятельности. Ученики становятся в круг. Мягкая игрушка передается по кругу так, как будто это горячая картошка или стакан воды, лягушка или маленький ребенок. Очень весело.
6. Categories: Класс делится на две команды. Выбирается какая-то тема. Например, город. Члены команд должны по очереди называть слова по теме. Та команда, которая не может назвать слово, передает право отвечать соперникам и соответственно не получает очко. Вторая команда при правильном ответе зарабатывает дополнительное очко. Выигрывает та команда, которая получила больше очков.

В последний день недели проводится концерт, к которому учащиеся готовятся заранее.
